...A Tornado Warning remains in effect until 830 PM EDT for northern
New Hanover and south central Pender counties...
At 757 PM EDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to
indicate a tornado just east of Castle Hayne....moving east at 25
mph. The tornado is just east of Interstate 40 and just south of the
Pender-New Hanover County line...and will roughly parallel Holly
shelter Road and Island Creek Road toward Hampstead.
Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Mooretown...
Scotts Hill...Hampstead and Topsail.

When a Tornado Warning is issued based on Doppler radar... it means
that strong rotation has been detected in the storm. A tornado may
already be on the ground... or is expected to develop shortly. If you
are in the path of this dangerous storm... move indoors and to the
lowest level of the building. Stay away from windows. If driving... do
not seek shelter under a Highway overpass.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT Sunday
evening for northeast South Carolina.
Please report hail... downed trees or damaging winds to the National
Weather Service in Wilmington NC... toll free at 877-633-6772... when
you can do so safely.

830 PM EDT...
At 825 PM EDT...the storm which prompted the warning has
dissipated...therefore the Tornado Warning was allowed to expire.
