Graphical depiction of the weather story for today.
Warm and humid conditions are expected Saturday with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s. A few thunderstorms are possible late Saturday night across northern Missouri. While widespread severe weather is not expected Saturday night a few severe storms with large hail can not be ruled out. The greater threat for severe weather will come Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. A cold front will move into eastern Kansas and severe thunderstorms will likely erupt across eastern Kansas during the late afternoon. Supercells with very large hail, possibly bigger than 2 inches and damaging winds are likely. A few tornadoes are also possible. Supercells will likely merge into a thunderstorm complex that will move east southeast across Missouri during the overnight hours. Large hail and damaging winds would then become the main hazards. That cold front will then move through the area Monday bringing another risk of severe thunderstorms. Large hail and damaging winds are possible with these storms Monday afternoon and evening. Stay tuned to your local media outlets as well as later forecasts by the National Weather Service for the most up to date information.
