   SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
   AN UPPER RIDGE WILL SHIFT EWD ACROSS THE ROCKIES TO THE HIGH PLAINS
   THIS FORECAST PERIOD...WHILE NERN PACIFIC CLOSED LOW MOVES EWD INTO
   THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST STATES.  MEANWHILE...A BROAD CYCLONIC FLOW
   REGIME IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST FROM THE DAKOTAS THROUGH THE GREAT
   LAKES TO THE NERN STATES.  AT THE SURFACE...A LEE TROUGH WILL BE
   MAINTAINED ALONG THE HIGH PLAINS BENEATH WLY FLOW ALOFT.  ASIDE FROM
   THIS BOUNDARY...A WEAK FRONT WILL MOVE SWD THROUGH NEB AND
   IA...WHILE A MORE NEBULOUS SURFACE PATTERN SHOULD EXIST FROM THE SRN
   PLAINS TO THE MID SOUTH AND GULF COAST STATES.  FARTHER N...A FRONT
   ORIENTED PARALLEL TO THE CYCLONIC FLOW ALOFT WILL SHIFT SLOWLY SWD
   THROUGH THE UPPER MIDWEST...WI...LOWER MI AND INTO THE NERN STATES.
